You don't need a serger for this pattern, all you need is a regular sewing machine that can do a straight stitch and a zig-zag. You will need a woven or knit fabric that is light to medium weight cotton. For a 45” or 60” wide fabric, you will need 1/3 of a yard for sizes preemie through 9-12 months and 5/8 of a yard for sizes 12-18 months though 5-6 years. Additional supplies include 1 foot (12") of ribbon and approximately 2 yards 3/8” wide woven elastic. This pattern is rated easy! Anyone can do it.
