Creative Play / Slow Stitch Club
In this series, we will meet monthly, on the 2nd Saturday, to explore the breadth of creative ideas and mindfulness that comes from working with vintage textiles and combining them with contemporary fabrics into unique pieces that tell the stories you want to tell. Participants are encouraged to use this time to work with materials and techniques that perhaps they have shied away from such as vintage embroideries, linens, fabrics and quilt blocks. The first project will be a small rectangular collaged piece that can be finished into a tri-fold pouch or a mini quilt. These projects can be stitched by hand or machine. Each month a new idea or technique will be demonstrated and contemporary artists introduced. Lots of ideas and resources will be presented while we enjoy time stitching and designing together. Gather your materials and come stitch with me this winter. Beginners are welcome to start anytime because this will be an ongoing stitch club.
